If you have painful reflux and want more info than the doctors have time to give you - then this really is a good book to keep at your side whilst you reach for the antacids. It covers a broad range of conditions within the digestive spectrum and offers sensible and life changing advice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of good information but 26 July 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Its a good book on the subject with some really good practical advice, but like many books written for the USA some of the content is not relevant to the UK.

If you suffer from Heartburn and you want to know more about the subject its worth getting. With regards to side effects from drugs that you can use to assist you with heartburn and reflux. There was some comment, but to my mind it was a little vague, which I am sure is because of the potential legal problems with being specific.

You can search the internet for answers in that direction. Personally I made a decision to make changes to my lifestyle and drop the pills. The information contained in the book helped me to work out what to do, with regarding changing eating habits types of food etc. It worked and I was able to shift the pounds as well as improve the heartburn. Worth buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny 28 Jun 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I ordered this book for my husband who has recently been diagnosed with GERD after months of problems. Very informative, easy to dip into for specific problems. Very helpful with foods that should be avoided or restricted and with the idea of keeping a food diary, he's now assembling his own list of 'safe' foods. Definitely worth the money.
