Product Description

Set during the 1960s in the fictional North Yorkshire village of Aidensfield and initially starring former EastEnder Nick Berry as PC Nick Rowan, this enduringly popular series interweaves crime and medical storylines, with a host of colourful characters that viewers took to their hearts and a wonderfully nostalgic soundtrack. Running for two successful decades and becoming staple Sunday-night viewing, Heartbeat won several prestigious TV awards including Best Performing Peak-Time Drama in 1999 (beating Coronation Street), and a number of ITV Programme of the Year awards. The series attracted a peak audience of 14 million, spawned a highly successful spin-off, The Royal, and a Top Ten hit single, and has garnered a devoted following, remaining prime-time viewing world-wide. This complete seventh series sees the transition between lead characters Nick Rowan (Nick Berry) and PC Mike Bradley (played by Jason Durr) as well as a 90-minute special, Changing Places, in which Nick emigrates to Canada to join the Royal Mounted Police.

5.0 out of 5 stars About time but one flaw 16 Jan 2012
Format:DVD
It is so good to see this out on dvd,did not seem possible 2 years ago with all the wrangling over the copyright over songs like in Shoestring.
Trouble is the greedy people at Apple who own the Beatles songs in their infinite wisdom deem it illegal to play Beatle songs sung by them
consequently we have folk singing them who sound like they are x factor rejects
The acting is so good without any stars to speak of like John Mills or Kenneth Moore

I am totally hooked on Heartbeat. Amongst all the crime shows featuring mindless violence, it is refreshing to watch something as low key as it is charming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Out with the old, In with the new 17 Aug 2011
Format:DVD
Series 7 was a series of many changes. We say goodbye to Nick Rowan, he emigrates to Cananda with his new wife Jo. Oscar Blaketon retires from the police force and buys the local post office, to be replaced by the Welsh Sergeant Craddock. We also meet Nicks replacement Mike Bradley (played by Jason Durr), and Maggie Bolton's hubby doctor Neil, who turns up to the shock of Maggie. From here on the series contained 24 episodes so I am sure you can understand why the retail price is more expensive.A very eventful series to be had with lots of cracking drama. The full episode list for this series is as follows:
1.Bad Apple
2.Pig In The Middle
3.Small Beer
4.Closing Ranks
5.Leaving Home
6.Fool For Love
7.The Family Way
8.Friendly Fire
9.Sons and Lovers
10.Playing With Trains
11.What The Butler Saw
12.Affairs Of The Heart
13.Peace and Quiet
14.Substitutes
15.In On The Act
16.The Queens Message
17.Brainstorm
18.Bad Penny

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! 19 Dec 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I love all of the Heartbeat series, as they have great characters (some of which change from time to time), good story lines, fantastic scenery and fabulous music. I highly recommend it. This one includes the special when Nick moved to Canada - not as good as the regular English series, but one for the Nick devotees...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Series! 13 Dec 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I spent months waiting for this to go under 20. But in the end could not wait any longer & bought it at 25. But that still is very cheap to anyone who is a massive fan of Heartbeat.

We really do see alot of changes in series 7. We see Nick & Jo leave for Canada, Sgt Raymond Craddock comes in, we welcome PC Mike Bradley, Blaketon stops being a Sergeant and buys the Post Office.

So so much stuff happens. For me, this is my fave series so far....

5.0 out of 5 stars SAD BUT A GREAT SERIES AS USUAL
Yet another great series but sad that it was Nick Berry's last one. Off to start a new life and his new wife, I hope it will be as good now he has gone, I'm sure it will be.
