4.0 out of 5 stars Don Tops Up The Pension Plan! 11 Jan 2005
After two successful seasons of 'Miami Vice', Don Johnson decided to have a stab at being a rock star.

Surrounding himself with creative talents such as Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) and Bill Champlin (Chicago), he managed to produce a surprisingly good album.

With most of the tracks being guitar and synthesiser-driven, Johnson delivers a good performance on most of the 10 tracks, particularly on 'Voice On A Hotline' and 'Can't Take Your Memory'.

Most people living in the U.S. will probably only remember Don Johnson's pop career for his 1986 Top Five hit 'Heartbeat', and the cheesy video accompanying it - but this album will pleasantly surprise anyone who listens to it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, because this kind of music isn't to be taken seriously, anyway! Don't listen to this album expecting to compare Don Johnson with Pavarotti, because you can't!

Give Heartbeat a try, and for those of you who like guitar riffs and 80's synthesiser tracks - you'll dig this!

Not only did mans journey into space peak between 1969 and 1972 during which the 12 (only what ? 8 left alive) men who walked on the moon did their stuff : music also peaked during those years. The rest is just winding down and fiddling about. 15 1 hour ago
