5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story 28 Oct 2001
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Another great book from Ms Kurland, nearly all the characters from her other books are here, this is the story of Thomas McKinnon who buys a ruined castle which is haunted by ghosts, one of the ghosts is Iolanthe MacLeod a medieval woman who was murdered in the castle, Thomas falls in love with her and goes back in time to try and prevent her murder and in doing so, hope she will be able to live as a mortal woman in the present day. The interaction between Thomas and the ghostly Highlanders who protect Iolanthe is quite funny, and I am glad we get to meet James and Elizabeth and Ian and Jane and a few others from previous books.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Heart Stood Still 2 Dec 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Another wonderful book by Lynn Kurland! This is the third book written by Lynn that I have read - they just keep getting better.

I was captivated from the start to the very end. Thomas was fed up with his life in America. His clingy ex fiancee, Tiffany, wasn't helping. He needed a new challenge. His sister Elizabeth, living in Scotland, informed him of a castle he should buy. He moved to Scotland with the intention of renovating the castle and moving in. What he didn't expect where the residents. The residents were none to pleased to learn Thomas had bought 'their' castle. The castle was Iolanthe Macleod's home and had been for 600 years, she had resided there, since her tragic death, and over those 600 years others had joined her and become her garrison of Scottish ghost protectors. Thomas was determined not to let his residents effect his decision and despite reservations by both sides, Thomas and Iolanthe came to tolerate each other and eventually fell in love.

Thomas knew he would never be able to hold Iolanthe and make her his own, or would he? If only he could go back in time and prevent her death! This was another challenge Thomas had to meet. He set out to find a way.

If you love time travel and romance, you will love this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic 27 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
From Woodiwiss to Lindsey, to Phillips to Quinn to Coulter to Barnett - what a long time it has taken me to discover Ms Kurland who ranks up there with the best.

"My Heart Stood Still" is the first Kurland book I have read. Funny and romantic with marvellous cameo roles and a solid Scottish backdrop - all you could wish for in a romance.
