Product Description

Product Description

Left with her stepfather's relatives on Cape Cod following his sudden death, Melody feels utterly marooned. The wealthy, tight-lipped Logans harbour dark secrets, and no one but their good-hearted son, Cary, will breathe a word. Then her mother dies in a car accident and Melody is left feeling more alone than ever. Forced to live in the room and wear the clothes that belonged to Carey's dead twin sister, Melody sometimes feels she has no identity at all. She manages to escape from the family by taking a summer job with Kenneth Childs, the man she believes might be her real father. And from the moment she learns that she and Carey aren't real cousins, the tender affection she feels for him matures into something much stronger. But although Carey has pledged his love for her, she knows she cannot echo his words until she discovers the buried truth about her past.

The second book in the 'Melody' series, sees Melody searching for the true identity of her father and still coming to terms with all that has happened. I thought it was a great book, I just couldn't put it down! All the original characters are in there and there are a few new ones added to make things more interesting! The book provides you with more questions, than it does answers and you are definitely kept guessing. I would reccomend that you read the first book 'Melody', before you read this, but it is not essential as the story is quite easy to follow and pick up. It is a must read for all Virgina Andrews fans! As the story progresses you see the relationships between Melody and her new found family grow and change. There are of course plenty of shock revelations thrown in to spice things up a bit. All in all, I would say it is a great read and if you like thrillers you won't be disapointed!.

This is just one of V.C Andrews books i just could not put down! I enjoyed reading the firdt Melody as it showed the affects on a young girl as she loses her family. But in this book it shows how she matures and copes with all the things she know that lies ahead. I just admire the love between Carey and Melody. I just cant put it all into words, it you wnat to know then get it, i insist its worth the money.

An excellent read 3 May 2012

During a spell when a relative was in hospital for several weeks following bodged orthopaedic surgery, she would read incessantly.

Initially, she was not familiar with Andrews' books until loaned one by a staff member who used to read during her breaks. It was not one of the first in a series but either 2 or 3 and she much enjoyed it. Later loaned another and enjoying that, she then asked that I buy some others on her behalf. She then bought some and borrowed others from other longer-stay patients and thus read most of her books in a fairly short time.

When told about V.C. Andrews following on with Virginia's writing, she also bought many of those.

In hospital and later, she thoroughly recommended both Andrews' books to several other people who, like her, did not previously know about the authors.
