Enjoy a real STAR ! 26 Aug 2009

What a lovley cd! It`s great to hear Norman singing, and a real treat. He includes some of his songs from his classic films, like "I`d like to put on record", a lovley song. Buy this cd, and sing along with a real STAR. Norman you are so loved !!

I was never a fan of Norman Wisdom the comic, because he always milked the situation for laughs. To read in the liner note to this issue that Charlie Chaplin once said Norman Wisdom was his favourite clown does nothing to tilt the balance in his favour! Freed from the distraction of his screen persona, however, I found his recordings more tolerable, and this compilation presents 25 of his best-known songs, including two duets apiece with Ruby Murray and Joyce Grenfell. The material veers from standards like "You Were Meant For Me" and "Once In Love With Amy" to novelty numbers like "The Bath Song" and includes eight of his own compositions.
