Product Description

Product Description

An engaging introduction to NLP, through 21 chapters, each focusing on a special topic: negotiation, resolving grief, parenting positively, motivation that works, fulfilling decision-making, and many more.This book gives you a "front-row seat" in following the accounts of people whose lives have been changed and whose dreams became reality by using their own inner power to change with NLP. Every reader is certain to find many topics of personal relevance. The authors include a step-by-step understanding of how each change occurred, that you can use for those areas in your life that you want to be different.

Even though this book is written as an introduction, it takes you quickly into a great deal of depth. You'll find material here that isn't included in other books on NLP. The chapter on "Personal Timelines" for example, reveals how to easily uncover our individual ways of coding time, and how this sometimes forms the basis for our life struggles, and strengths.

This book is a comprehensive source of easy-to-read NLP theory and case studies. Free of NLP jargon and complicated explanations, the book is valuable for everyone aiming at personal improvement or just curious about NLP. If you want to study the NLP applications how-to extensively, you'll need other books. This one is for common people, who can achieve immediate results with the NLP techniques described. A Note to the authors: I would prefer a more organized structure for the book, though this does not lessen its value.

Although books by Bandler & Grinder are "from the horse's mouth", this book presents a wide spectrum of applications complete with wonderfully explicit directions that virtually anyone can follow to achieve behavioral change. As a Master Practitioner of NLP, I have found this book to be a fabulous resource and frequently recommended it to clients who want to know more about Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

I'm just learning, and I found this book to be elegent in it's approach. Take specific skills of NLP out of context and they might seem trite. So read this and you may find, as I did what happens when experienced, intuitive therapists use it properly, in a client focussed, flexible and empathic manner. Things happen, as they engage clients in making those things happen for themselves. This is one of a selection of books I would recommend to anyone wishing to become a brief therapist, whether or not they intend to use NLP training. Like "My voice will go with you" and Uncommon therapy, this book is an engaging read that teaches easily.

Words don't have any energy unless they spark or trigger an image. The word in and of itself has nothing, nothing. One of the things I keep in touch with is, "What are the words that trigger images for people?" Then people follow the feeling of the image. "e;

In contrast, those who are devastated by criticism "take it right in." Many people literally imagine that the "negative meaning" of the criticism goes right into their chest, like a piercing arrow or a dark beam of light. "e;
