4.0 out of 5 stars Fun light read 22 Mar 2013
By Karen Mills - Published on Amazon.com

I enjoy historical fiction, so this fit my preferences. Typical historical fiction love story set in Oklahoma. Not too much written about the geography, but a fun light read that's easy to follow, easy to put down, and easy to pick up again. I would read another Wilkins book.

1.0 out of 5 stars I tried, I really tried to like this book. 5 Aug 2010
By Rita Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I tried so hard to like this book. It is a clean book, but unfortunately that is not all is needed to make a good read. The writing was either really bad, or the editor didn't do their job. In one paragraph she began five sentances with 'She . . .' She did this. She did that. She waved to so an so. She walked here. I could not get into these characters even though I really tried. The book was about Oklahoma and I did my best, but it bored me. I loaned it to a friend, and she said she couldn't finish it, so it isn't just me.

I am not typically a fiction reader, but this book was a very nice surprise for me. The writing was superb and the story was intriguing and held my interest. It was well worth my time, and I am looking forward to the next book by this author.
4.0 out of 5 stars Typical But Fun 16 Jun 2010
By Mac Pro - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Nice clean fun story of the typical historical romance genre. It takes place in early 1900s Shawnee Oklahoma and the author seems to have done her homework. Young people are intertwined through love and friendship. The main character, Ada, comes to town with a troupe of actors, decides to stay and falls for the handsome cowboy. She makes friends with a lady journalist and the cousin of the cowboy. There's the bad girl and the bad guy who planned to marry Ada. Pretty well written and you'll enjoy the easy to read book.
