Book Description

6 Oct 2008
The book answers the 100 most commonly asked questions about wine. Some of the questions, such as "do screwcaps mean cheap wine?", have short and simple answers; others, such as "how do I taste wine?", have longer answers illustrated with photographs and illustrations. Like "Thirsty Work", the book features photographs from several countries and has an innovative design to reflect Matt's refreshingly relaxed approach to wine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Populist approach, but a bit weak. 6 Oct 2008
By KP.
Format:Hardcover
I was looking forward to this book as I often have to explain wine to people for my job and thought that the latest Skinner offering might be a good help. To be honest it isn't really. Its a pretty good attempt to explain wine and answer difficult questions, but in general it feels a bit lightweight and low on the details that would be really useful. Seems to be a lot of 'posed' photos for a wine guide too! Perhaps it was rushed out for Christmas?
