I have been a long time sufferer of heartburn and digestive problems so I take Vitamin D3 in conjunction with a probiotic supplement. Unfortunately no change in my food intake has ever been able to eliminate those problems entirely. Taking these capsules together have actually shown a dramatic improvement in my ability to function and digest food properly. It didn't eliminate my heartburn altogether, but it definitely helped. I'm very happy with the results because some relief is better than nothing!!
If you're are dealing with a similar situation, I would suggest try taking a probiotic with the vit d-3- Probiotic Probiotic Complete - 90 Capsules + FREE Bottle of Vitamin D-3 5000 IU Capsules. Again it hasn't been able to fully eliminate my problems, but my case is not normal either. It has fully regulated my ability to go to the bathroom and discomfort stemming from that, but for whatever reason my heartburn is still there, despite how minimal. I'm undergoing further tests to determine what's causing it. Also, taking both or either of these supplements is good for your body's overall immunity and ability to fight off illnesses so keep that in mind too.

I find that taking Vitamin D is a Must for me and my family, because we, like many people in the UK, barely have any exposure to sun - and did you know that if you apply SPF 8+ your skin doesn't produce vitamin D ? People of ethnic origins that have darker skins produce less Vitamin D than people with pale skin. If people come from a culture where the body is traditionally fully covered, they are also likely to lack vitamin D. It gets deposited in the body's fat stores, so that's why people who are overweight or obese have even lower levels, because the stored vitamin is not available in case of a deficiency. (That also explains why the highest dose of Vit D in foods can be found in oily fish, although other foods in general contain only very small quantities.)
These are all reasons why vitamin D deficiency has become a global phenomenon.
I use this product because it is high dose Vitamin D3 in an easily absorbable form and excellent value (almost a year's supply for just £11 if you choose to take a high dose) and I feel much better for doing so. This is Not a product suitable for vegetarians and vegans, because it is made from lanolin and contains gelatin. (I've seen nifty little vegan sprays on amazon that can either be sprayed directly into the mouth or on food - e.g. for picky little children, who also need supplementation with the same amount as adults!) Vitamin D does not need to be supplemented daily, you could take a weekly dose (e.g. if you take 3 of these softgels a week, it works out around 2150 IU a day which is a safe dose.)

I started taking this around 6-7 months ago. Initially I took 10,000 IU a day for the first 2 months, and then backed off to 5,000 IU a day. I had my vitamin D levels tested around a month ago and they came back at 233 nmol/L (93ng/ml). Prior to and while taking the Vitamin D I didn't see much sunlight, so I am absolutely certain that the supplement was doing the job. I've noticed an increased feeling of well-being, clearer and smoother skin, enhanced muscle growth while weight training and fat loss. I'm going to back off to having one every other day to get myself into the target 50-70 ng/ml range.

Cheap high strength!
