First let me say, unlike some of the other reviewers, I'm not a scientist or a doctor. I'm just a curious person who wanted to try and understand more about how your diet can affect your health (for better or worse).
Whilst some parts of the book were interesting and informative, on the whole, I was largely disappointed with this book. I found the writing style of the author to be extremely dry (a difficult read) and the book was laden with scientific jargon.
Don't get me wrong, of course I expected there to be some science (one of the reasons I bought the book in the first place), but I don't think I was quite expecting the depth that the author would go into in some of the chapters and it was very difficult to follow without a degree in any of the biological sciences.
For me, I wish more emphasis had been placed on dietary treatment rather than on the explanations of molecular activity that dominate this book. The book would then have been more useful to me and lived up to its title "health and nutrition secrets that can save your life".
