Book Description

An Exciting New Approach to Regaining Health Without Surgery!
Fact: By the time they reach menopause 40 percent of American women have at least one uterine fibroid; 600,000 women are diagnosed each year.
Fact: Fibroids are the leading cause of hysterectomy, the second most common surgical procedure performed on women.
Fact: Natural, holistic medicine can heal fibroids without invasive surgery.

Fibroid tumors, while usually benign, can swell a woman's uterus to the size of a basketball, frequently causing heavy menstrual bleeding, cramping, bladder infections, and even infertility. Most doctors recommend surgery as the only answer. Now this innovative holistic program brings new hope for a surgery-free life to millions of American women.
Dr. Allan Warshowsky combines traditional Western medicine and holistic science to cure not just the fibroid condition but also the underlying imbalances and systemic dysfunctions that can cause fibroids. With an exciting program of diet, exercise, supplements, herbs, and mind/spirit work, Dr. Warshowsky shows fibroid sufferers how to become the strong, healthy women they deserve to be.

Product Description

Effectively combining holistic and conventional medicine, a practical guide to the care and treatment of fibroids provides a close-up look at the links between nutrition and environmental toxins and fibroids and looks at a variety of therapeutic options, including nutritional supplements, herbs, exe

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing Fibroids 25 Jan. 2007
By Trisha
A book that gives a comprehensive insight into the possible causes of fibroids and how to 'heal' them. The dietary advice in the book, although extremely strict and so difficult to follow, cured my hormone imbalance problems within two months! The meditation section made me realise how stressed I have been over the past few years. I haven't tried the herbal remedies or the supplements section as I think these require an expert to guide you. However, I'm so glad I read this book and I hope it will help others facing possible surgery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book - but be prepared for a commitment 21 Feb. 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book explains what fibroids are, and the things that are known to contribute to developing them in a very thorough way. It then goes on to show you what you can do to treat them by addressing several areas - diet issues, taking herbs and supplements and considering emotional/lifestyle factors.
It works!
The case stories are extremely helpful because through those you can focus down on some of the key areas that might be relevant to you.
If you have a poor diet and a stressful life when you begin - you might have an awful lot to do! I already had an extremely healthy diet, did a good amount of exercise and had reduced the stress in my life, and was using natural progesterone - but I STILL had fibroids and they were growing and giving me pain and very heavy bleeding.
Through this book I was able to take my fibroid treatment to the next level! I used a particular herb tincture that was recommended and a supplement that suppresses overproduction of a particular enzyme ( yes it is that detailed). Within 24 hours the chronic pelvic pain I experience was significantly improved - prior to this I took Ibuprofen all the way through my period - suddenly I was managing without!
What Dr Warshowsky says about the Fibroids being a symptom of the underlying hormone imbalance is so true - but my doctors had never tried to help me in that way previously.
Even if you can't manage all the changes that are recommended in this book - maybe it is worth making a start.
This is such an important book. There IS an alternative to surgery. Thank you Dr Warshowsky for your gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing Fibroids 2 Dec. 2012
By Nat
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
When I was diagnosed with a fibroid, my doctor told me I should take it out. But she said it might grow back anyway. That seemed rather hopeless, and she did not offer any advice about how to live with the thing, or reduce its symptoms. That's why I bought this book. What I like about this book is that it is written by a doctor who asks his patients in-depth questions about their history and advises a more balanced, thoughtful and long term response to the problem. I really enjoyed reading the various case histories of women he'd treated and their journeys to healing. He suggests multiple ways to tackle fibroids. The standard response by doctors as to what causes fibroids, is "nobody really knows." This book makes a courageous attempt to look at the root causes, both physical and emotional - and that is what the author then bases his treatment on. It's given me a lot more to work with than a dismissal of a fibroid as a simple physical problem that must be 'removed.'

Great book, very informative and written by a qualified gynaecologist. Since reading it, I have undertaken some of the advice and my symptoms have subsided without the need for hormone therapy or surgery. Definitely worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed to read no alcohol 15 Sept. 2013

You might think it's a good book to read but i'd rather not have learned i can't drink alcohol due to fibroids coz it's a crap life living with the symptoms so an occasional tipple keeps ones sanity! However, I didn't mind reading that giving up soya lemons is beneficial...alot easier! ;)
