5.0 out of 5 stars Great end 19 Mar 2012
By bookeholic VINE™ VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition
The last book of the series which starts with Justine and Simon finding her car with a bizarre bet by Simon if he finds it he will be one of her bridesmaids yes she is all set to marry Otto or Henji and he has moved her into his condo. Justine seems happy with her lot at first but when she encounters Packard for the first time since the shooting she is overcome with conflicting feelings. Shellby is also acting suspiciously and Justine vows to find out what is going on. This is a brilliant end to a fantastic series and I thoroughly enjoyed it - the ending was perfect although very nail biting towards the end - thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant end to series 27 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you have read the second book you will know that we were left with a MASSIVE shocking cliff hanger and book 3 picks up two months from where book 2 ended. Book 3 starts off action packed with Justine and Simon hunting down her car that was towed away months ago. Simon has made a bet that if they find the car he can be a bridesmaid at Justine's wedding to Mayor Otto Sanchez which is just days away. The action doesn't stop there as the whole book is one huge roller coaster ride which I read sat on the edge of my seat hyperventilating with fear and nervous excitement. There are lots of surprises and revelations revealed and a very exciting ending. The plot was really good, I love all of the characters and I really enjoy reading Ms Cranes writing too. If you liked the first two books you will not be disappointed with this last instalment. I'm also very excited to learn that one of my favourite characters Simon has his own book coming out next year, I can't wait for that. If you get some book vouchers for Christmas and you like Urban Fantasy I recommend that you look at buying the first book and see how you go. I am going to award this book 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best series I've read! 8 Dec 2011

Impressive and satisfying conclusion to a series that I'm incredibly sad to see come to an end.

I can't delve too deep into the majority of the circumstances and situations surrounding this story without giving away Double Cross's shocking ending. But what I can tell you is that this book is full of moments that are intense, mysterious, heartbreaking, romantic, and laugh out loud hilarious.

Fans of the Disillusionists should feel satisfied with how the series ends. It's the happily ever after that we've all been eagerly anticipating and I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every single moment.

I can only hope that Crane continues to write and I have my fingers crossed that she is creating another series with more characters that I can fall in love with.

Thank you Mrs. Crane for a brilliant series that I am proud to continue to recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this series!!! 8 Dec 2011

I really love this author and she hit it out of the park again. This book does not stand alone, so you have to read Mind Games and Double Cross first. This series is truly one of my favorites. Carolyn Crane writes a great book with interesting characters and a unique story. I connected emotionally with Justine the heroine. A series you should not miss for Urban fantasy/ sci fi genre with lots of sexy tension!!! I put Carolyn Crane up there with Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent End to the Trilogy 8 Dec 2011

Well I am really, really happy and really, really sad because it's over.

This is an incredible trilogy. If you haven't read the first two books in this series, then there is no point in reading this one. If you have read the first two books in this series, the second of which ended on pretty much a cliffhanger, you don't want me spoiling what happens, do you?

What I really enjoyed about this book, besides the writing, which is fantastic, and the side characters, which are very interesting (really liked meeting Justine's Dad), is that even if you think you know how it's all going to turn out, Carolyn Crane takes you on a wild ride. There was growth and change, and mystery and resolution.

I grew up with a family that loved me, messed up as they were—people who loved me unconditionally. Packard never had that. He’s always been alone—fiercely, completely isolated. Fighting for whatever he could get. "e;

I used to say happiness was the absence of something—the absence of darkness, hate, fear. Especially fear. I thought, if I could get rid of my fear, life would be great. "e;
