A Good Buy,

I recently bought a Hayter Spirit 41 4 Wheel Push Rotary Lawnmower and I can only say what a good buy it has been. It was delivered well within the advertised schedule and it was well packaged. It is some time since I have bought a mower and I was very impressed with its performance. Mostly it has been used in dry conditions but on the odd occasion when the grass has been wet there is a little difficulty with picking up the grass and also there is some clogging of the discharge chute between the rotor blades and the grass box. Otherwise the machine is excellent and performs well in the correct environment ie dry conditions. Being quite narrow the mower is ideal for the smaller garden especially round flower beds etc. I can highly recommend this mower.

When the mower arrived it started with difficulty, ran roughly, and after about 30 minutes use stopped working altogether. I noticed a small spring had become detached near the filter. I took the mower to a local Hayter agent who was easily able to replace the spring, which was faulty, and the mower is now fine. The agent explained that suppliers such as GM (through Amazon) and B&Q don't run the mower before delivery, they just put them in the box, and so do not detect small problems such as this.

Grass cutting,

I have a Hayter petrol mower already, with an electric switch start and self-propelled mechanism which I am very happy with. Because of that, it was easy for me to choose another Hayter machine for my sister. This one is a push mower but it is light and simple to use and performs very well. It arrived in a large box and all that was necessary for me to do first was to raise the handle, fit a screw wheel to the side, and assemble the grass bag on its frame; all easy. Adding unleaded petrol and filling up with oil and the mower was ready to use. It's a pleasure to use and is well recommended.
