In a read-aloud environment this book is VERY popular as it offers great scope for joining in....not just in terms of the repeat elements and the memory game, but also the scanning of the illustrations for clues, generally resulting in the more observant spotting the aforementioned crocodile!
And the ending......keeps the young audience wondering........he didn't, did he?
