My mum bought me this book when I was 11, and I remember dipping into it to read relevant sections as my curiosity grew and found it easy to read and reassuring; and when a friend told me her daughter had "started asking questions" and wasn't sure what to say, I recommended this book to her. I wasn't sure whether it would still be in print as I'm talking over 25 years ago, but was delighted so see it was still on sale!

I bought it for her and although initially I think it raised loads more questions(!!), at least now my friend's daughter is armed with the information she needs to understand the changes that her body is going through, and is less anxious about them. Its also been a steep learning curve for my friend, and provided opportunity for her to talk honestly and frankly with her daughter about periods and boys and all the other "growing up" topics!!

I bought this for our daughter as she is in the last year of primary school and due to start going through puberty. I bought it after reading it mentioned in a newspaper as being a good source of information. I am not disappointed, after giving the book to our daughter she has felt able to approach me with questions & seems reassured by the contents of the book, after she had been party to a few confusing conversations with peers this book has helped her to understand more of what is going on/will be going on. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Aww I remember this book :-) My mum bought it for me when I was about 12/13 after I told her about it (my friend was reading it). It's really perfect for a girl who is beginning to go through puberty or who has just got her period. It answers all of their questions in a very relaxed, clear and non-textbooky kind of way. I remember that reading about anything like this in a science book at school used to make me cringe, feel uncomfortable and a bit sick (some of those pictures!), but "have you started yet?" isn't like that at all. You can really relate to it and it's easy and interesting and enjoyable to read. It really clued me in. I'm going to buy it for my future daughters :-)
