Dr. Susan Ludington-Hoe’s internationally acclaimed Infant Stimulation Program has shown thousands of parents how to have healthier, happier, and smarter babies. In this important book, Dr. Ludington-Hoe shares with you the remarkable techniques and learning toys she developed and tested—with dramatic results—with parents and children. You’ll learn how to:

∑ Plan a pregnancy diet to promote your baby’s brain growth
∑ Design a nursery that will stimulate mental and physical development
∑ Make and/or buy inexpensive toys to accelerate muscular and eye coordination
∑ Tailor your program to your infant’s needs
∑ Talk to baby in captivating ways that will encourage language development
∑ Include father to bond the whole family in a relaxed, nurturing, and loving environment

“…an extremely clear treatise on infant development and the use of various toys and techniques designed for each stage.”—Los Angeles Times

2.0 out of 5 stars This could bring out the competitive parent in you, 15 Sep 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Have a Smarter Baby (Mass Market Paperback)
I found this book to be dated (it recommends raw eggs for pregnant women and putting babies to sleep on their fronts!) and a little intense for my liking. I hoped for a guide to gently encouraging my baby to develop, not a technique for hot-housing mini Einsteins! There is a tendency for the book to mainly recommend toys and games made by the author's own company (although the option is there, with instructions, to make your own in some cases) it sometimes feels like a thinly disguised sales tool. Useful to a point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, our children have benefited greatly, 28 Aug 1998

This review is from: How to Have a Smarter Baby (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is packed with eye openning research into when babies start to learn and how. It comes with easy games and exercises to start stimulating your babies brain. Our first child's vocabulary is very advanced for his age (age 2 yrs 3 months) and he can recognized 10+ colors. That is more than a 4 year old is suppose to know. I believe the early the techniques we learned from this book has contributed to his success.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ for all parents and caregivers!, 14 May 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Have a Smarter Baby (Mass Market Paperback)
I discovered this book eleven years ago. I was a brand-new mother and was eager to learn more about my baby. This book opened my eyes to the wonder of children and helped me understand what was going on inside my baby's brain. It became my daily reference book.....Fastforward to today - I have three children ages 7,9 and 11. They are all confident, happy, and socially secure. They all attend school in a gifted program and excel as students. They love school and they love to learn. Do yourself a favor - read this book!
