2.0 out of 5 stars Brief Encounter 7 May 2014

The stories are entertaining and the book started off promising. However, all 3 books in the trilogy do not even make an evenings decent read. I finished this book in 20 minutes. I feel it is more an article than a book. In total, it seems the authors whole career adds up to only 60 minutes of writing. Quite frankly, I felt cheated of a good long read and this clouded my opinion on all 3 books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent... Very interesting collection of true stories 6 Feb 2013

This is a very interesting collection of true stories of a medic on an ambulance... The author writes in folkloric language, and tells it like it is, not as he wished it would be. True life can sometimes be stranger than fiction, and some of these stories are incredible, but true...

Some stories are funny, some are tragic, and some are pathetic... but all of them are very well told and this is what he says really happened... Not just emergencies... these were extreme emergencies.

If you like a good story, you will like these. They leave a mark. They have impact. They make you laugh, or they make you very sad.

And if you like a good story: these really happened!

I did not enjoy this book, he might be a good medic but the crudeness and the language did nothing for me there is no need for all the he man stuff !!
4.0 out of 5 stars Loved this Book/Series 29 Mar 2014

I really enjoyed reading this series. Very eye opening to read about a day in the life of these heroic individuals. They see it all - good, bad, and ugly of society. I have so much respect for this author who was able to put it down in writing. There are 3 parts to the series. Read all 3 - you won't be disappointed!
