I wish this book had been written two years ago when we purchased our first Havanese puppy. It was our first experience with owning a small dog and this book would have saved me many a sleepless night! Small dogs are just different from larger ones in some respects, and this book is a great guide to understanding them. The author covers a lot of subjects that don't appear in any of the earlier books written on the breed (like the pros and cons of raw diets). I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is considering purchasing a Havanese.

This has been a wonderful book on the breed with the best explanation of their history I have ever read. My mother has several havanese dogs and we have found them to be a fabulous breed and very engaging. This book explains not only issues that Havanese might have but issues that you would find with any pup you acquire. This author is not only a lover of the breed but has also done extensive research of the breed. Glad to know about the ancient history and absolutely love the photos. Thanks for such a great book!
