This remixed album is a follow up from the Havana Cultura - New Cuba Sound CD. If your a beginner to Cuban music then i would strongly suggest the first Havana Cultura album as a good starting point. For those who are a little more acquaint with Latin sounds and Gilles Peterson's contributions in general then you will know this is a natural transition. I would describe it as slightly more groove based, dancey, cutting edge, bass driven kind of vibe which is very club friendly. With remixes from some big-hitting producers that have done serious justice to the original jams. Some well known names as Louie Vega, MJ Cole, 4hero, Carl Cox, Rainer Trüby and Gotan Project's Philippe Cohen Solal to name a few, who have all contributed to this underground Cuban flavoured mix. You also get the bonus DJ mix courtesy of Gilles himself that neatly weaves together the disparate threads that make up a typical Peterson DJ set....this is Gilles in his element. I can assure you this will not disappoint, in fact it will tick all the boxes. I'm a big fan of traditional Cuban music and bit of a party animal, i can say i'm more than happy with the overall package. Yet another Brownswood classic!!
