Book Description

It starts with a cough, a few aches and pains and a weird spot on the back of your neck. It is HAV3N, the worst disease the world has ever seen.

With friends and loved ones dying in their thousands, the villagers of picture-postcard village Great Sheen are convinced this is more than just media hype. Their entire existence is under serious threat. So they barricade themselves in - and the infected out.

Seventeen-year Josh, his sister Martha and their two friends survive the onslaught of HAV3N, along with only seventy-eight other villagers. But they now face a very different future. One in which they could be the only living teenagers in the world . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars HAV3N unstopable adventure 13 Aug. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What a book, I really got into the story very quickly, its a fast paced read and I found I needed to keep reading it to draw the conclusions...I still think of the characters, it's strange as I find myself thinking I'm glad so & so are dead, I wonder if any other communities will connect from other nations who also found a breakthrough from HAV3N. Great read and you'll enjoy it. Tom Easton will need to write more for us!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hav3n - a compelling read, not just for teenagers 18 Aug. 2012
By Monika
Once I had read the first couple of chapters of Hav3n, I just couldn't put it down and stayed up until I had finished reading it.
Even though I'm not the target audience, I really enjoyed the book. I expected it to be mainly about finding a vaccine for the virus but was pleasantly surprised that it's more about how the community and especially the four teenagers deal with their situation and their responsibilities in the aftermath of the virus.
The characters are very well depicted, making it easy to identify with them and their motives.
Hav3n is not just gripping but also thought-provoking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced, gripping read 25 Sept. 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Once I had started this book I couldn't put it down. Although targeted at a younger market, it can be read and enjoyed just as well by adults. The main characters are very well drawn and one is quickly drawn into the young people's perspective and how they view the changes in the adults around them and the implications of being the only teenagers alive in the world. However in addition to being psychologically very perceptive it is a rattling good read. The mental images of the small group of survivors and how they are coping remain in your mind long after you finish the book. Strongly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for adults and teenagers 15 Aug. 2012
By emily
Hav3n is fast paced and gripping, once I started I couldn't put it down!

Tom Easton creates a bleak and chilling world following a virus that has wiped out the population, leaving only a handful of survivors. At the heart of the book are four teenagers, whose sanity and instinct make them natural survivors, and leaders of this new daunting world.

The characters are extremely strong and believable throughout. The story is tense and thought provoking. A modern day Lord of the Flies, I would recommend this book to adults and teenagers.
