|

The HD PVR Gaming Edition is specially designed for the dedicated Xbox 360 or PS3 gamer. The Gaming Edition includes a new jet black case plus a universal Component Video cable, so you can bring 1080i video from your game console into the HD PVR. Also, we include the latest version of Arcsoft ShowBiz which allows you to record your game play in HD and upload directly to YouTube.
HD PVR's video passthrough gives zero delay on your TV monitor, and makes HD video recordings at the same time! Video passthrough uses the component video input to record your game play in HD while the "no delay" component video output allows you to play your games on your TV set. To see our passthrough recording diagram, click the "Connector diagrams".
At long last, a personal video game recorder that offers high quality recordings from your HD gameplay.
At the heart of the HD PVR is an H.264 high-definition encoder that's built-in for high-performance, high-quality TV recordings at up to 1080i resolution, 720p or VGA/D1. The box includes a component video input as well as optical or stereo audio inputs. (Audio is recorded using AC-3 encoding from SPDIF in 2 or 5.1 channel audio / Digital Dolby).
The HD PVR records in the AVCHD format, which can be used to burn Blu-ray DVD discs. Two hours of high-definition recordings, recorded at 5 Mbits/sec, can be burnt onto a standard 4.7 GB DVD-R or DVD-RW disk for playback on any Blu-ray DVD player. (You have the option of recording at data rates from 1 Mbs to 13.5Mbs, constant and variable bit rate).

The .TS and .M2TS files are AVCHD compatible, and can be used to burn Blu-ray compatible disk recordings. These files can be burned onto a standard DVD+R or DVD+RW disk for playback in a Blu-ray disk player. Approximately 2 hours of HD TV recorded at 5Mbits/sec can be put onto a standard DVD+R or DVD+RW disk.
Component Video cables from Xbox 360 or PS3, component video cable set to your TV set, audio cable set, USB cable and 5V power supply. Also includes the following bundled software applications: Arcsoft "ShowBiz" with video recording and direct upload to YouTube.
The HD PVR measures a scant 7.8 x 6.8 x 2.8 inches, so it will fit snugly next to your game console.

Hauppauge HDPVR,
By
This review is from: Hauppauge Gaming Edition High Definition Personal Video Recorder (Personal Computers)
The HDVR is very simple to install and get going. Another advantage is the weight, it weighs next to nothing so it's possible to stack on your Xbox 360 at least for those who are tight on space. This gaming version also comes with a component cable for the 360 and PS3 so you won't have to swap out cables or buy a switcher. It comes bundled with a recording program for basic editing and uploading. My only wish would be for them (Hauppauge) to remake the HDPVR with the ability to control by remote (if posible). It also assumes that everyone has everything set up in a compact space so if your PC or laptop is going to be far away from the HDPVR you will need an extension cable. However, I have no issues with performance, it does what I need it to do and if you want to record your gameplay then this is the device most You Tube commentators/video makers use. You can't go wrong. My basic set-up: HDPVR Xbox 360/PS3 HP Laptop Blue Snowball microphone Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD (Platinum)

Hauppauge HD PVR Review,
By Code-X "Andy" (Scotland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hauppauge Gaming Edition High Definition Personal Video Recorder (Personal Computers)
I have been wanting this for sometime now and finally just purchased this today I cant wait for it to arrive I thought the normal version was out of my price range but when I seen it on amazon for £139.99 and I seen the gaming edition for £149.99 I had no choice but to snap it up.....But when I was going to hand over that kind of money i decided to do alot of research and see peoples views and see video footage for myself of the quality !!! after this extensive search I found that the hauppauge hd pvr is the most advanced system out there for people who want to record their online/ offline gaming sessions without needing a high spec pc that costs a fortune or a hard drive thats as big as bill gates head ! As you can mostly already know if your reading this thats theres always alot of competition going on and people will always say this is better than that... you will never ever find a product thats the best they all have their own qualities and disadvantages.... but I would recommend this system to anyone who like me would like to record their xbox/ps3 gaming sessions because trust me when I say I dont part with this kind of cash unless I am absolutly 110% sure that its worth every penny and yes im that tight lol.... EDITED: I now have this product and have been using it for a while now and I am pleasantly suprised with it took me a while to get the settings perfectly for the xbox 360 and I am still not sure if its the best settings/quality I did expect a bit more from this product but cant complain really as it does what it says any advice about settings and setup will be most welcomed and does anyone else get ghosting lines running through the screen from time to time ?
