1.0 out of 5 stars pretty pathetic 16 Dec 2012

As a student of paranormal intrests and of photography this as pretty disappointing to be honest there are some good bits of information about tht battle but as for actualy evidence as to back up the claims by using the pictures here they just do not cut the mustard this is what happens when you let amatuers try to get evidence about something they are intrested in as they are intrested in the subject of gettysburg good try but could do more, just need a bit more work on it.

Very interesting account and well brought to life. I'm no expert on photography, but the pictures were very good and clear (my copy of the book is a colour pdf). The book certainly appealed to me since I have an interest in the supernatural. I also enjoyed the author's ability to bring the subject to life and elevate it from the all too common dry accounts you usually find on the subject of supernatural phenomena.
The book would serve as an excellent field guide to the Gettysburg site to anyone planning a visit, and also for anyone interested in the possibility of spiritual remnants on historical battlefields.

3.0 out of 5 stars An ode to the past.. 29 Oct 2011

How you are going to enjoy this short book really depends on whether you believe in ghosts or you believe there is always a logical explanation for any event that happens. A sceptic will always look for the scientific solution and the believer in the unbelievable will usually see the figure in the mist. I can keep an open mind, but yes I am the figure in the mist type. Saying that I don't think this was really a book about ghosts per se, I thought it was an ode to the authors late husband, and a nice one at that. The tales of their walks and travels together. Unfortunately the pictures were in black and white for me, so I don't think that does them full justice. I do believe that the death of so many will leave some imprint on the area, in whatever form you wish to believe in. I felt it could have been longer with more pictures and tales, but I enjoyed it anyway. I recieved a free copy of this book for my review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Black and white didn't do it justice 20 July 2011

Do you believe in ghosts? I'd consider myself sceptical but open-minded and willing to take a look at any evidence to support their existence. That's why this book was interesting to me.

It is a short book, around 40 pages of print, including photos including unexplained orbs and mists. The photos were largely taken by the late Jack Grant, an American civil war buff, around the Gettysburg battlefield. The author includes stories of strange happenings, explains the locations of the photos and details of the civil war battles fought at the various locations and provides some useful information for anyone planning on visiting the area.

I know very little about the civil war so found the details of the battles enlightening, and was interested in the comments on the pictures and equipment used. However some of the photos aren't clear on the kindle's black and white display and I felt like I was missing something. Did they convince me that ghosts do exist and that they'd been captured on film - not exactly, I would need a little more information ruling out other causes, but they certainly got me wondering.

If you are planning a trip to the area or have a general interest in the subjects covered this is a good little book, although a colour version would probably be a better bet.
