When all the good people of Coventry are abed, the dead wander the streets! Or so it is claimed in 'Haunted Coventry', which features spooky stories galore from the city and surrounding area. Within these pages you will find the Phantom Monk of Priory Row, ghostly grey ladies, a spectre that appears to do the washing up, a phantom lorry, spooky seances, and the Devil himself, rattling chains at Whitefriars - just a taste of the many restless spirits to be found in haunted Coventry. From spectres in the suburbs to haunted pubs, this fascinating collection of strange sightings and happenings in the city is sure to appeal to anyone intrigued by Coventry's haunted heritage.

Great book, part of a series of regional books, detailing accounts of locations haunted happenings, along with the folklore / fact surrounding the apparent ghosts. Lots of areas of Coventry featured with some very interesting little bits of information. Would recommend to anyone living in Coventry - believer or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleased (if a little unnerved) Coventrian 2 Dec 2012

Great book! Spotted it at the motor museum a year or so back and snapped it up. I live just outside of the city centre and work on the Tamworth Road (easily one of the most haunted stretches of Coventry with thanks to a Nursing Home and an old relic of a pub) and so this book appealed to my love of Ghosts and all things a bit spooky with the added bonus of knowing the places it was describing. Not really one for people outside of the city or lacking a knowledge of Coventry, because then it's just another haunted city book, but if you know the places it's a really good spin on what you thought you already knew.
