Great value for money 19 Nov 2009
By Merlyn
This high chair has been a great buy. It's well worth the money, especially if you take into account that it can be used by children up to approximately 10 years old. Furthermore, it's a lot cheaper than similar high chairs. I agree with other reviewer that the paint chips off slightly, but I don't think it's particularly bad. Initially we used it with the front bar, but last couple of months without. Our oldest (nearly 2)can climb into his chair himself, which gives him independence and my back a rest. The chair is light, and easy to clean. I recommend it.

I bought this for my 3 year old as he had outgrown his highchair but our dining chairs were quite big for him. He loves his new chair and sat playing with his playdough and painting yesterday it seems to really fit him. I would have not been happy with this as a highchair as the chair is quite low, it would be okay for occassional use but not all the time.

I do agree about the paint chipping, mine turned up with a big chip in it I've managed to cover it with a sticker. For the money it is a good purchase and I'm happy with it.

Does the job fine 17 Jan 2010
I read other peoples reviews before getting one of these and was aware that they chipped easily before getting them.
However you get what they pay for and these type of wooden high chairs are usually considerably more. So I think the price reflects this flaw.
The colour is funky and the kids love it, also because it is a completely smooth surface (my last ones had a wood grain) they can be cleaned very easily.
I know that the fact that when banged or knocked they have a risk of chipping the colour, however I have had mine for a few months and they are still in a perfectly good condition. If in time it is an issue, I will give mine a quick go over with a can of spray paint and they will look like new again I am sure.

I have used this style of high chair with both my boys as I much prefer the fact that they don't have a tray and the child is sat at the table with the family and can get involved with conversations. Also because the bar is removable I have taken it away with both boys at about 14months, they can easily climb in and out (although I have a strict no getting up during dinner rule! - and they do listen to that as otherwise the bars would have been back on a long time ago. aged 1 1/2 and 3)
My previous high chairs of this type lasted okay, however were joined together in the middle with metal bars instead of the slats of wood, looked nice but the boys used to stand on them and they bent slightly, then the chairs became wobbly and the foot rest at the bottom would slide out so easily when pushed with a toddler foot. I am hopeful that this different make with the wooden slats will last longer.

Great chair but be wary of the coloured versions
As a wooden high chair that allows your baby to sit at the table with everyone else this chair is great and does the job brilliantly. Read more

Not up to the job
Having purchased this only a month ago the red paint has started to chip away. I would have expected a more robust finish from this type of product.

Its not red, but it is good.
We opted for the Hauck Alpha as it seemed like a good alternative to the Tripp Trapp which even second hand can cost >£50. Read more
