I'm a big fan of Aiden (his other band) and when I saw the article in Kerrang! about him first saying he's starting this side-project and the things he said left me thinking he had gone of his head.
I was half right! Yeah, some of the lyrics aren't that good. I know someone has already commented the flaw on the lyrics of 'Beautiful Loser' but I don't get what they said about 'Tranquilise'! That song is my favourite song on the album!
This album isn't for the kids! It's rather rude (if you've listened to it, you know what I mean) and there is quite a bit of swearing also. It's also not for the deeply religious because he constantly says in his lyrics how much he hates religion.
I have been to one of his first gigs and it was great! He really knows how to get a crowd going.
I can't wait for his next album - if there is one.

Wow, Seriously my francis has made a record that is truly fantastic, its not emo in anyone cept it has one of emos posterboys, but thats where it stops.

this is fantastic! its more billy idol meets ladytron than say my chemical retard, or how ever that is spelt.

from opener 'prologue' which is spoken word and is about why we should hate him. and maybe we would if he hadnt loaded this album full of such groovey 80s synths and sing along chorus'

every track has something its so good, and will be such a tragedy if the only ones who buy this are the aiden fans, if u like that synth sound wiL sorry william has made a record that is unquestionabley as sexy sounding as when a tiger purrs.

buy it now you wont be dissapointed.

download these songs 'beautiful loser' 'strangers' and 'the whipping haus' then buy the album its worth much more than the price here!!!!!

If you are buying this because you are into Aiden (William's main band) you are not going to know what's hit you. What you are in store for is so much more emotionally mature and musically vast than anything he has done before. I am not a fan of Aiden, I am too old for all that! But I saw the video for Beautiful loser and reaised I was watching something great. Gothic, electric and dark dark dark. I bought the album on the strength of that one song and wasn't dissapointed. What you get here is something closer to Marilyn Manson than anything 'emo'. William is a character you love despite his doom laden lyrics which remind me a little of Alkaline Trio or more closely Heavens. But this music would sound great in a vampire's nightclub where Absynthe and cigartettes are plentiful. Its electric like the Faint, goth like Manson and catchy like Trio, but it is also very unique. William wants you to hate him, so he says in track one, a spoken prolugue, but you are more likely to fall for his darkly charms.

William Control, a very underrated singer/songwriter with his album Hate Culture is one of the best in his genre. Love it.
