1.0 out of 5 stars Buy at your peril, 1 Feb 2006

This game has a shelf life of about 3-4 games. It really is that bad.The DVD only has 150 questions on it which is 25 per category, you only have to do the math to realise that it isn't long before all the questions are repeated and you have to resort to using the cards instead of the DVD as you have seen them all.
This then brings up the of packs of questions.UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
3 Packs of questions (very small packs at that)
We still own the older type game which consisted of 2 large boxes of questions. We worked out you would need about 18 of these newer packs to fill the 2 boxes.
I just wish i'd have read these reviews before buying this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars A new take on an old game but a bit of a letdown, 17 Feb 2005

Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
We bought this game over the Christmas holidays to try something new. We wanted the DVD version because it was more interactive. If you are a "trivia" in its purest sense fan then maybe this game is for you but to my mind there are too many questions that you couldn't be expected to know the answer to - or wouldn't care when you do... The categories of gossip and trends are suspect to say the least whilst the others of film, music, sport and TV are hit and miss. It leaves the impression that this game has been put together in a hurry for Christmas and not enough care has been taken as to the questions.
The DVD itself flatters to deceive. It hasn't been taken full advantage of and the clips etc are not essential to answering the questions that follow. The worst thing about the DVD, however, is that after only a couple of games we are already coming across the same questions again! Considering the capacity of the DVD, I would have thought there would be room for more clips, or at least a way of controlling what clips are shown. This is an expensive game probably because of the DVD, and yet the DVD is the one thing that lets the game down. IF the game were supplied with 3 DVDs along with the 3 boxes of cards then maybe the price would be justified.

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY bad value for money, 4 Jan 2006

Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
Disappointing isn't a strong enough word for this game. Although the game is marketed as a DVD game, only a small proportion (180 in total, I think) of the total questions are on DVD. The DVD questions are only used when you land on a "wedge" square on the board - the rest of the game is played using question cards as per the normal game. The DVD is very basic and looks like it was put together in 5 minutes. As pointed out by a previous reviewer, the clips on the DVD often are unnecessary for the question (e.g. a 30 second clip of a U2 song followed by "What is Bono's real name" - and many more of that ilk). The board is flawed - two of the "wedge" colours look the same and could be easily confused. Even the dice is rubbish - the dice is made of transparent (yes! transparent!!) plastic with black dots - you can barely make out what number you have thrown if you throw it onto a dark table! All in all, not good value for money at all - it's easy to feel conned by the labelling that this is a DVD-based game - if you enjoy Trivial Pursuit, get the original and really don't bother with this - it's not worth the money.
