Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Right off the top of your head...

Name a car, restaurant, toy, fancy dress costume and sport, and make sure your answer begins with the same initial letter! That's right, so if 'M' is the letter you could answer Mazda, McDonalds, Monopoly, Mermaid and Motor racing, but be sure to keep your answers unique. If you repeat a word that your opponent has used you will score nothing!

Think Quickly. Think Originally.

I bought this game after seeing it played on the tv show 'Newlyweds' it looked so much fun... and it is!! Every person we have introuduced the game too has become a total addict, begging us to bring it out when they come round!! Once you've done all the card several times it tends to get a bit repetetive.. but put it in the cupboard for a couple of months and BAM, its just as exciting as it was when you first got it!
Real fun, total classic.. a must have!

Scattergories is a really good game. Basically, you roll a dice which gives you a letter from the alphabet. Each player then individually works through a category card which gives them a list of categories, and they have to think of something for each category which begins with the letter. This is then repeated with a different letter but the same categories. Then, in round 3, there is an open ended category, and each player has to write down as many things beginning with the rolled letter as they can think of. In each round, you only score points if no other players have got the answer.

There are a few little rules which say some things you can and can't write down, but the other key part of the game is that if there is a dispute - over, for instance, whether an obscure Third Division Footballer counts as a celebrity - the players vote as to whether they think it should be allowed. This can bit can become a little bit heated, so play when you're all in a good mood!

One of the best things about this game is that you can choose how many rounds you play. A single one only takes about ten minutes, so it can be anything from that up to hours if you wanted! I would say that we normally found that after a couple of rounds, it tends to wear a bit thin - but that may just be because we are too competitive and people start voting down perfectly good answers!

We played this game over the Christmas period and had such a good time the television set had feelings of rejection.
For young and old this game is tops.
