    I am surprised to find that yes, it does work and entertains my boys aged 4 and 9, and a 13 year old friend is pretty keen on it too... and no, the darts don't seem to hurt even shot at close-ish range. I don't let my kids play with guns but have to say if they are insistent then this one is a good 'halfway' choice. Looks like a space/fantasy gun without the deadly overtones.

    one of the best of the bunch, simple mechanism which will fire just about any type/brand of dart that is 75mm long (which the recon 6 and some others will not) although i'm yet to try it with the velcro style tag types. the reload is not to heavy but the delivery and range is impressive for the size of the unit (my mate put a hole through his paper lamp shade)

    accuracy is 90%ish
    great value

    only down points are:
    no spare darts
    you have to squezze trigger to ensure a clean shot.

    Brought this for my seven year old boy at Christmas but I must say that ive had more fun with this toy, First of all its very robust and hardy seems it would be difficult to break

    Comes with 6 nerf darts which if you've never seen them are basically foam darts with a sucker, but well made so they are reusable many times and you can buy refills.

    The gun when fully loaded can fire 6 darts in about 6 secs and as long as you don't fire at anybody's face, nobody gets hurt as the darts have velocity but very little mass.
