Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
"You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye." You too can now say those infamous words when you play The Weakest Link board game.

Suitable for four to nine players aged 12 and above, The Weakest Link allows players to feel the pressure of the quick-fire interrogation Anne Robinson has become famous for, and will also allow you to test your general knowledge along the way.

The latest blockbuster in a line of popular game shows, The Weakest Link is all about getting the most points, voting the weakest link in each round off, and ultimately, about being the one contestant left at the end of the game: the strongest link. Playing against the clock, "Anne" (or whoever you designate as Ms Robinson, in her probable absence) controls the game. She asks the questions from the question cards included (three levels of difficulty) and times contestants (timer included). She also controls the bank, and will add money on as questions are answered correctly, or deduct it as they are answered wrongly. But don't forget to "bank" before she asks the questions to keep your money. She also operates a grid (moving players up and down as they answer correctly or incorrectly). This is key, as this will reveal the weakest and strongest links at the end of each round. There is even a head-to-head round for the last two contestants.

The game reflects the processes and rules of the TV version as closely as is possible in the board format. Full instructions are included, and the first time the game is played, allow extra time as it does take a while to set up and fathom out the intricacies! Also note that while some 12-year-olds may grasp all the tasks required to be "Anne", others may need adult assistance, as this role is key if the game is to work.

But the real fun of this game is in the Anne Robinson mask--particularly as you get to poke her cardboard eyes out the first time you play to allow the question master to see. Great family fun, this game will provide hours of entertainment, but be prepared for scathing sarcasm and brutal bluntness: once you have that Robinson mask on, it seems you just can't help it! --Susan Naylor

2.0 out of 5 stars You certainly are the Weakest Link, Hasbro., 23 Jan 2002

I have purchased both 'The Weakest Link' and 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' board games and I have to say that this is no-where near as good as the Millionaire game. I am quite disappointed with it.
The first thing that struck me about this game is the terrible artwork. 'You are the...' is much larger than 'weakest link' on the box, I just think it looks silly.
The whole package looks cheap and tacky, from the plastic items to the graphics. It looks like it has been rushed out into the shops without much thought. The question writing isn't up to the standard found on the programme either.
I would recommend the Weakest Link electronic version as the gameplay is better.

The Millionaire game on the other hand is much better. It plays just like the TV show. The graphics and general quality of the game are superb and the questions are very well written and appropriate for each money level. Although it is a bit more expensive, it is much better than 'weakest link'. There is also an edition 2 for extra questions.

Weakest Link is the best game I've ever played! Watch out Millionaire, cuz Anne's in town! I've been driving my parents nuts reciting lines from Weakest Link, and now I can finally tell them they're the Weakest Link with the Anne mask! This is great!

I live in the US :( so we don't get it right now, but I guess since England came out with it first they get dibs:):):)

Keep it up, Englishmen (and women)!!! We need more game shows like this!:)

It is thought that "Weakest Link" is disgusting and vile but this game proves otherwise. It shows the true educational side to the show. The fact that it is a general knowledge quiz and not just an excuse to allow witty Anne Robinson to be express her anger at innocent members of the public. Top Marks.
