Classic Monopoly is the game of buying, renting or selling property so profitably that players increase their wealth--the wealthiest at the end of the game being the winner. This portable version is completely self-contained in a robust plastic suitcase-shaped case, making it ideal to take anywhere or play on the move. All the pieces you would expect to find are here--the top hat, the car, the houses, the hotels, Chance, Community Chest and the threat of Jail. The pieces slot into holes on the playing surface and there is a container to hold the bank's money and property cards. Very small or very large fingers might have trouble with the tiny pieces, but on the whole this is an excellent version of this popular family game. There are no Chance and Community Chest cards; if you land on these squares, you need to throw the dice and carry out the activity relating to the number thrown. Apart from this, the game is identical to the full-size version, complete with tiny houses and hotels to attach to property. --Phillippa Reece

Monopoly is the classic property trading board game. Invented in America during the Great Depression, it's the game about dealing in big money and getting rich quick. Starting from the famous "GO" space, move around the board, buying and selling properties, building houses and hotels as you go. Watch out for players landing on your property - they owe you rent! And don't forget to collect £200 every time you pass "GO". Your success depends on wise speculation, smart investments and clever deals. Even if luck fails, you can still resort to mortgages and deals with other players. If you become the wealthiest player with so much money that you own it all - you win Monopoly!
