Realising that Cluedo is one of the nation's most popular games, makers Hasbro have now come up with a travel version so that true super-sleuths can follow clues wherever they go. Handily packaged in a rigid green plastic "suitcase", the game measures roughly 6 inches by 3 inches (15 cm by 10 cm), and is incredibly light, so it will easily pack away in a handbag or overnight case.
Open the game case out and the two halves flatten to function as the game's board. A moulded plastic interior with cut-out rooms, a well for clue cards and "peg" holes for playing pieces, mean players can play a mini version of the traditional game in the back of a car, on a plane journey, while waiting for a train or anywhere where there is time to kill. Mini dice, players and weapons as well as clue cards, score sheets and even instructions are all included.
Though the game doesn't quite replicate the gaming experience of the full-size version and players must be careful not to lose the pieces when opening the game up, this is a great little family game to take on holiday or long journeys to fill in the hours between destinations. --Lucie Naylor

Travel Cluedo is the way forward! The carry case is about the size of the average hard back novel but considerably lighter. Travel Cluedo is much better than a pack of cards in that your game lasts considerably longer plus it is more suitable to say a train journey than something like chess because although it is engaging, it doesn't demand the absolute concentration that chess does (something which you are unlikely to have the luxury of on a long train journey). The only reason I don't give this the full five stars is that this game is probably not really suitable for air travel in that to make it really fun, you need at least 3 people sitting around the table and that is not usually possible on standard civil aircraft!

Basically this is the Cluedo we all know and love, only small and portable. A small green plastic suitcase opens and contains everything the original game has; game board, playing pieces, cards, dice and score sheets, only smaller. Excellent game to kill time while travelling, or to take along on holidays without having to carry extra baggage as it is the same size as a paperback. What I loved most however is that the inside of the suitcase is the interior of the mansion with cut-out rooms, which make it so real!

Having played only once, the game can be a bit complicated on the first play. The instructions skim the surface of the game and I was confused whether to place the weapons (smaller cards) face down or right side up. The pieces of the game are pretty small, even though the box could hold bigger pieces. The travel cards can be fiddly which means in the long term pieces will be lost. Other than that, the game is fun and mentally challenging!
