Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Mr Frosty is a very versatile toy. From ice-lollies to Frosty sundaes, it will provide hours of entertainment for the kids (and older ones with nostalgic memories of this classic toy).

The box contains: Mr Frosty ice cruncher, three lolly moulds, two sundae dishes, one fruit juice dispenser (in the shape of a penguin), two fruit shaped tray moulds and two spoons.

Simply pop some ice cubes under Mr Frosty's hat and turn the handle (the help of an adult is strongly recommended) to crush the ice. Have some fruit juice ready in the penguin dispenser to add colour to the ice. Then serve in the special Mr Frosty sundae dishes.

Create multicolour ice-lollies by filling in the lolly moulds with water and fruit juice. Leave a few hours in the freezer: they'll make a fun dessert!

For those very hot days or simply for a nice decoration, fill in the shaped tray moulds with water and fruit juice--pop them in the freezer for a couple of hours and the result is lovely fruit-shaped ice cubes. They are sure to be a success with young ones and for parties.

This item also supports Hasbro's Playskool brand, which is recognised as a fun and educational brand for young ones.

Amazon.co.uk would advise that it is suitable for children aged five and over and recommend the presence of an adult. --Gaëlle Affret

Don't bother 30 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My 5 year old has wanted one of these for ages, and I finally bought one for him today. I can't believe I paid £15 for a couple of ice trays and a cheese grater in the shape of 'Mr Frosty', I tried to hide my disappointment from my son, who couldn't wait to make 'lolly ices'. To start with you have to make novelty shape ice cubes with cordial, then wait for them to set in the freezer, then you put them into Mr Frosty and turn the handle at the back, at the same time as pressing down the plunger hat, then you 'might' get some crushed flavoured ice ( I say 'might' because it doesn't work very well). Don't bother buying this unless you see it in the sales for £2.99.

Mr Frosty 1 Dec 2004
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
After much pleading from my 5 year daughter, I reluctantly bought this for her. Although the actual machine is well made and robust, it does not do what it is supposed to. I filled Mr Frosty with ice cubes and turned the handle, expecting to create a lovely pile of crushed ice on which to pour the flavoured syrup. No such luck. I turned and turned and turned and turned until my arm ached and I was puffed out. This produced about one teaspoonful of slush. In the end I resorted to making the slushy drink in my own blender - much more effective.

As happens so often the tv advertising for this product makes it seem far more fun than it actually is.

Very disappointing. It was hard to use because the handle was so hard to turn (parents will end up doing it all!).

The amount of slush-ice it actually produces is minimal. The plastic with which the fruit-shaped ice-trays is made is inflexible, so you can't bend it once it comes out of the freezer, making it almost impossible to get the promisingly pretty ice shapes out!

To top matters, now, three weeks after buying it, and after using it just *twice*, we can't turn the handle at all.

Thanks Hasbro, for a pile of non-recyclable plastic junk, which has wasted weeks' worth of my daughter's pocket money and made her rather sad!
