Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Specially designed for playing with kids 5 to 8, the Junior version of the world's most popular board game takes the players to the amusement park. You're bound to have fun - and it's great for working on math skills! For 2-4 players.

Product Description

Monopoly Junior is a thoughtfully adapted, kid-friendly version of the classic family game. Here I need to insert a disclaimer: I've always hated Monopoly. My grandkids love Monopoly, though, and this faster-paced Monopoly is bearable to me. Since I'm a word nerd, I prefer games like Catch Phrase and Bananagrams, but I can see that Monopoly Junior builds a skill set that is more geared to mathematics but is equally important.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for children. 4 Nov 2006

A simplified version of Monopoly. The game is much better for children than adult Monopoly: there is virtually no strategy and so who wins varies with each game played. The money is better for children: coming in denominations of £1, £2, £3, £4, and £5. The game is excellent at teaching children how to count and a game only lasts about 20 minutes. Excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for kids 26 Oct 2005

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Our three children received this as a present one year ago. The 5 year old played with it daily for a month and even now it still has a regular outing, and although the 12 year old would prefer the adult version, she's still happy to play. Educationally its good for easy counting. There are only £1,£2,£3,£4 and £5 and the cost of the property is the same as the rent, until you get both of the same colour and then its doubled. At first our 5 year old used to find it a bit tricky to work out which notes to hand over, or how much change to give, but he soon got the hang of the maths. All the property is based on fairground rides and attractions, and is brightly coloured. Excellent

4.0 out of 5 stars I hate Monopoly but... 4 Feb 2006
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is an excellent children's game.

One die.
Bank notes from one to five quid.
Games usually last only about ten minutes.

A fun way of getting a (about) five year old to practise their counting.

My only gripe is that it could make a child want to play the real Monopoly when they grow up. The fools.
