Product Description

Almost every day the papers report another merger, buyout, or joint venture. It's difficult enough to keep track of who owns which company, but it's even more difficult to know if your own company should join in the game. From valuation to integration, this collection helps managers think through what such a strategic move would mean for their organizations.

The Harvard Business Review Paperback Series
The series is designed to bring today's managers and professionals the fundamental information they need to stay competitive in a fast-moving world. From the preeminent thinkers whose work has defined an entire field to the rising stars who will redefine the way we think about business, here are the leading minds and landmark ideas that have established the Harvard Business Review as required reading for ambitious businesspeople in organizations around the globe.

This book is extremly useful for those who do not have access to the past editions of the Harvard Business review and want information on Mergers, However if you do have access to the harvard Business review I suggest you look them up and read the articles there and this book would be a waste of money as it offers no additional insight on mergers and acquisitions, only what is stated in the articles.

As this book contains compilations of articles prior to the fall of the stock market in 2000, some authors tout the coming of the New Economy, even praising Worldcom as one of the best companies in the technology sector.

Apart from these glitches, the advice and insight is very helpful in understanding how these experienced authors who are CEOs make their M&A decisions, what their thoughts are etc. Very practical, and is not meant to be a theoretical read.
