What can I say? Saw these guys at End Of The Road and found a new band to love! Their live show was so insanely intense I had to get their album. Having spent the last few days in thrall to
Harum Scarum I can safely say I think this is one of the best albums to have come my way in years.
If you get a chance check it out. After hearing the dark 'DOL', the heart wrenchingly beautiful 'Anything You Love That Much, You Will See Again' and the quirky 'Kathy Ray', you will wonder why the charts are currently chock full of utter rubbish and not owned by Joe Gideon and The Shark. Its barmy how these guys don't have more love. This is more than just indie. It's indie with bells and whistles on. Yeah, actual creativity as opposed to jangly pap. Gideon's voice will have you rooted to your seat as he weaves his bizarre stories over erratic rhythms that somehow manage to sit well even when all the logic in the world is telling you no!
Harum Scarum is an album you will love if you genuinely love music. It will scare people who love La Roux. Which is a good thing!
