I first came across this series when I was in England visiting family. The author is English and it is funny that the English books have different character names (for example, Harry is called Sammy) and some of the English terminology was changed slightly in the American printings.
But no matter what you call him, Harry is a neat little boy. The text is easy to read, fun and lyrical and has a fun quirks that really makes Harry a great little kid with a fun imagination.
One of the things I like best are the illustrations. They are just so well done and make the characters fun and comical.
Harry and the Snow King is not the best in the series (we really like Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs (Harry and the Dinosaurs) but that could be because that was the first one we bought) but it is fun and opens conversations as to what happened to the snow king that Harry built and brought inside.
I would recommend this and any other Harry books by Ian Whybrow.
