Product Description

Product Description
This new novel by J. K. Rowling continues the further adventures of boy wizard Harry and his friends. Harry is due to start his fifth year at Hogwarts School, and what he is about to discover will turn his world upside down.

About the Author
JK Rowling lives with her family in Edinburgh. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was her first novel, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as well as two books written specifically for Comic Relief and based on the Harry Potter novels, Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them and Quidditch through the Ages. The Harry Potter novels have been prize-winning and consistently on the bestseller lists, and have now sold over 190 million copies worldwide. Originally published as an author for children and still primarily so, JK Rowling has generated huge popular appeal for her books in an unprecedented fashion. JK Rowling was the first children's author to be voted the BA Author of the Year, and also to win the British Book Awards Author of the Year. Films of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, distributed by Warner Brothers, have been released to huge success.

3.0 out of 5 stars The weakest "Potter", 9 Feb 2009
By Peter Lee (Manchester ,United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This was the longest and, sadly, weakest of the "Harry Potter" novels. For me the story never really seemed to get going, and was badly in need of editing. Nothing much really seemed to happen in this one, aside from somebody dying at the end (no spoilers) and the Ministry of Magic being visited, and having seen the also disappointing film it is apparent that not a lot happened there either. Some have said that this was their favourite "Potter" book and film, but for me - and almost everyone else I have spoken to about it - this was the nadir of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRILL!, 14 Oct 2005
Great book! Read it. Nothing special just another adventure for Harry and things turn on the bad side. If you like the other books then you would certainly like this one. After it's massive realease it should be shouldn't it. It is J.K ROWLING and her new sort of style of writing. If you don't understand the end of it, don't worry. All will be revealed in the 6th book. Well most of it will. It's the fantasy tale for children that adults seem to love.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heavy-going like Stephen King, 20 Sep 2005

The Book 5 is the most heavy-going (to this date - I am writing this 20th September, 2005) of the supposed seven-book series. It comprises a dark and depressing saga not far from the works of Stephen King. I really would like to konw if British (and American as well) children have really "enjoyed" reading this.
