Just as the Harry Potter movies seem to be getting better with each sequel, so to the games have been improving with every new release. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire shows every sign of being the best yet with a greater emphasis on playing all the characters and not just Harry.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are all playable (and they look like the actors from the film too) and each has their own special abilities, strengths and weakness. These can be augmented by collecting and using Collector's and Creature Cards as well, almost like a proper role-playing game.
Perhaps the games greatest draw though, other than much improved graphics, is the co-operative mode which allows you to play all the way through the game with up to two friends joining in. There’ll be no arguments over who gets to be Harry either as everyone has to work together with the most powerful spells only being possible by everyone combining their powers. The spell casting itself works in a different way than before with the analogue controllers being used to move your wand around on screen--you can even feel it shake as the rumble pack of your controller kicks in.
Harry haters still won’t enjoy this on principle, and to be honest it’s neither the most original or difficult game ever made, but for fans of the films and books it looks absolutely wizard. -- Harrison Dent

I was so excited about getting the new HP game, having loved the Prisoner of Azkaban game so much... but this is simply the worst computer game I have ever come across.
You need no skill at all, (you don't even get to select which spell to cast at any time, the game does that for you) there are no puzzles - you just keep getting attacked by the same types of creatures over and over again. The levels are incredibly dull and have no real link to the book/film. You can wander around the outside of Hogwarts, but it is only on the roof of the school and not in the spectacular surrounding we saw in previous games, or you can go to herbology classes and be endlessly pursued by giant bees... don't remember that happening in the book.
Whereas in the POA game you could swap between characters and utilise their different skills, in this you choose one and stick with them for the whole level, and aside from the (seemingly token effort) of having different cards to choose from to enhance different aspects for the character on each level, it really is very dull and doesn't seem to have any link to the characters in the books at all.
As for the supposed Triwizard tasks... the less said about them the better, it's very difficult to go wrong on them as the computer does all the steering etc for you... very very poor.
Thankfully I have now seen the film and am relieved that it isn't as dismal as this game (it's actually almost as good as the book), but I was worried for a while there. How this managed to get the go ahead / slip through the net, I have no idea - all I can say is if you want a Harry Potter game, DON'T BUY THIS! Buy Prisoner of Azkaban instead - that was everything this should have been.

This game is very good if you have friends to play multiplayer with, but i found that the game was a bit to short. It was a really nice concept but i missed the ability to roam around hogwarts like you could on the previous Harry potter games. In the end i found this game to repeat itself alot. Very good game but a bit short for such a good book.

This game is truly abysmal, i bought it hoping that it wouldn't be as slow and boring as its predecessors, but as soon as i played it for an hour i realised how terrible it is.
You play as Harry, Ron and Hermione which would seem to be a dream team if only the characters weren't so cheaply made, plus, controlling the characters has been clumsily done.
Instead of having a huge environment to explore, you're stuck with six levels that require the same attacks over and over again.
There is one good point to the game however, the Triwizard tournament tasks are fun for a while, but once you've played through them several times they soon become tedious.
In summary this game has been cheaply made and no real time and effort has gone into making it. Don't buy this game, you'll end up being frustrated by the non-stop repition and the cheaply made characters.
