5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious fun., 30 Oct 2008
The second new series from this legendary comedy duo demonstrate they have lost none of their hilarity and inventiveness. Along with the "I saw you coming" man, the cultured builders and the Polish cafe girls there are also the elderly DJs, the football manager fluent in various languages, the armchair TV commentators and works of genius like Clarkson island and the Northerner show. A brilliant series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic series, 6 Nov 2008
I didn't see much of the first series of this show and what I did see I wasn't sure about, but I decided to watch the second series and I'm certainly not regretful.

The humour in this show oozes hilarity. There are a range of sketches, from the spoofs of the "original" versions of modern movies, such as the Bourne Identity, which sees just about every character rapidly contradict everything they say "...or do they?" to the bizarre spookiness of the sketch in which a writer in an inn repeatedly asks the landlady if she has heard of his works, which to his frustration she never has. Then comes the random madcap humour of Nelson Mandela's tribute to Blur, or the brilliant Clarkson Island and a soft and "wibbly" version of 'Kingdom'.

Other notables include the American couple from "badiddlyboing", supposedly a small town in Idaho, and the trials and tribulations of a man whose greatest wish is that the Polish woman in 'Cafe Polski' would ask him out. Also look out for the "yeah, we can do that" builders, who can knock up an underground subway link in minutes, the pet notherner, the woman-wooing chocolatier and a fantastic Tony-Blair-gets-a-normal-job-sketch.

To cap it off, the madcap range of sketches in this series makes for many, many laughs, and while not all sketches work, the ones that do - really do. Another bonus is that there is almost a complete avoidance of catchphrases, and while I don't hate them, it is refreshing to see a comedy sketch show work very well without resorting to them.

Nice work, Harry and Paul!

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, 1 May 2009
Loved the first series, but was very disappointed with the second. The New characters, I didn't find amusing at all, what happened to Abramovic etc who was hillarious. If it's not broken don't fix it. I watch the 1st series all the time, but the 2nd series will just collect dust, a waste of money.
