I bought this because it's an Open University set book, but I needn't have bothered. Although it is excellent, it's no better than the grammar book I already owned.

Moreover, my tutor has only referred me to a specific section once in the first five months of this eight-month course. Even then, the relevant information was easy to find in my other grammar book.

The one advantage I can see for this book is its size. It would fit easily in a day-bag or large pocket when travelling.

A good dictionary but with limited detail. The print is also very small as it is itself. This does make it handy to carry around though

Pocket-size is not something I look for in a reference work. The layout is too small & dense to do justice to its subject - which needs clarity and illustrating with plenty of examples - so until I find a more user-friendly publication I'll be checking the middle pages of my bi-lingual dictionary or going online. Cheap yes, but save your money for a grammar book worth having.
