It's hard to be critical when you are crazy about a band. Their first album (Preachin Blues) was absolutely perfect. The raw power and the great way the musicians came together quickly made you forget it was a trio on acoustic instruments. This album, however, isn't quite as nice. Where "Preachin" reached out and grabbed you like a live performance, this CD seems more polished, more "produced". It's still very, very good to listen to, but it's just not quite the same. But, since Ben Andrews and the Blue Rider Trio only made two albums, if you like them at all, you really need to buy this CD.
