Product Description

Product Description

"Harnessing Up" is an invaluable guide to the method of putting on single harness and adjusting it correctly. The easy-to-understand text and clear photographs take you through every stage of the procedure. Of obvious interest to the beginner with no knowledge of harness or driving, this book will also provide the experienced driver with useful tips and information.

About the Author

ANNE NORRIS learnt to drive over five decades ago and was a very successful competitor in private driving classes. She has been a member of the British Driving Society for thirty-six years and, for many years, was a member of the BDS Council and the BDS Show Committee. She has lectured on private driving for the BDS in the UKM Canada and the USA. Miss Norris is now a member of the BDS Senior Judes Consultative Committee having been a private driving judge for thirty years, and is holder of the British Driving Society's Medal of Honour. CAROLINE DOUGLAS is one of the best exponents of carriage driving today. She has successfully competed in both the show ring and driving trials with single and multiple turnouts. Dressage training in Austria provided Caroline with the rare ability to relate to both riding and driving horses. She is a senior panel judge, examiner, lecturer and trainer, with a driving and riding centre in Sussex.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short, scattered, and British, 25 July 2007
By P. Shackelford - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Harnessing Up (Allen Photographic Guides) (Paperback)
I was disappointed when I received this book as it was so thin! It is more of a pamphlet than a book. There are nice pictures, but they get out of order now and then which is confusing, and it is written with very British terminology. This book does not give you enough information to harness up, though it did have a few helpful hints. Also, there were no descriptions on the different parts of the harness until the last page, which had a poorly drawn diagram. Save your money.
