This review is from: Harle: The Ship (Audio CD)

John Harle has become synonymous with the soundtracks for high quality television dramas and documentaries. This one recorded for the 2002 documentary:

The Ship: Retracing Cook's Endeavour Voyage is a documentary film about a 21st century voluntary crew on a six-week journey from the east coast of Australia to Jakarta, Indonesia retracing the famous voyage of Captain James Cook aboard a replica of the HM Bark Endeavour.

The music is superb in variety and evokes the visuals splendidly, Harle blends ethnic chants with modern beats, music from Aboriginal and Indonesian sources.
This is so much more than a mere soundtrack; it is an archive and an adventure in sound.

Included on the disc is a CD-Rom video featuring highlights from the television programme.
