4.0 out of 5 stars Old Ravers Get misty eyed.... 20 Nov 2001
Of the crop of collections purporting to give you a taste of nostalgia rave stylee, this one seems to have a track listing that most people who were 'there at the time' will recognise.
Some of the other offerings stray too much into popular chart and dodgy nightclub track territory, but you WILL remember most of these tracks being played in a tent in a muddy field somewhere, as you gulped down bottles of evian at 3 quid a shot.
Cheesy it might be, but it is a worthy nostalgia trip.
The tracks have been mixed, but you still get a good run of each one.
Debatable as to whether a lot of the tracks here would pass for real 'hardcore',there's no nose-bleed stuff here but they are certainly of the time.
It is possibly all the better because of this, and great fun to put on in the car.
All in all, a most enjoyable wander down memory lane.
Big fish, small fish, cardboard box dancing optional.
Whistle possee in the houuuse! Wave your hands in the air etc etc.... :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Compilation of all the classic old skool anthems 21 Dec 2001
By A Customer
'Hardcore: u know the score' another of the countless 'old skool' compilations being issued, first it was chillout and now 'old skool'. With all the record labels cashing in 10 years on. However this is the cream of the crop and a definate must buy.
This Compilation features all the classics such as Sweet Harmony, Mr Kirks Nightware, Bombscare, Playing With Knives etc. Although there are tracks omitted it stays away from the charty stuff which would be more suited on 'Hits of 91, 92 or 93'. It is mixed but it adds a bit of authenticity albeit that it was mixed on a computer.
It is ideal for those who dont know much about 'Old skool' and those who followed it, usually in cars round the M25. Forget the rest this is the best compilation and a must buy for those even vaguely interested in the 'old skool' hardcore genre.

Some top tunes on a well presented double cd pack. Most of the oldskool classics, alas they are not in there full 12" form but are shortened or mixed out at around 3"30. The mixing is sketchy and obviously done digitally paying no attention to key changes whilst mixing. But this cd is worth it for the tunes alone!. Should never of been mixed though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old rave classics and some you my not know 7 Nov 2001
Just as I was thinking where am I to get old rave tunes on CD, comes this little number with the best collection of tunes I could have hoped for.
All the old rave classics are here like 2badmice, sonz of a loop da loop era, Liquid and many more.
Basically if you want dance music at its original best then get this CD.
