The Hard Way Rocks! 29 Jan. 2001
By "dparkhill" - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I had a copy of "The Hard Way" on vinyl years ago. Point Blank was the hottest southern rock band in Florida at the time. You must hear this if you haven't yet! The thing that struck me and that I'll never forget Awesome talent of John O'Daniel on vocals. This man is simply the BEST Blues/Rock vocalist I've ever heard. The control he has on his voice is not natural! I am a guitar player myself and was quite influenced by the guitars. There are harmony lead solo's that will simply BLOW YOU AWAY!!!!! (Listen to "Thank You Mama") The sound is very hot too. This was released before grunge. The sound is still pure rock! Gibson and Fender Guitars through Marshall's!!!!! (There are still a few of us that are HUNGRY for this sound!) The songs that stand out to me are "Wrong to cry" "Thank you mama" "Highway Star" and "Hard Way" Pick it up, It will be the most played project you own!!

Great album! 22 May 2002

Ah, now THIS is funky music! I was introduced to Point Blank after hearing their awesome "American Excess" album. A few years ago, I managed to acquire all 6 of their studio CDs (at great expense) and treasure them all. In listening to them all, I was amazed at the diversity of music styles this band went through from their first album to their last. By the time their 6th album was released, their style was highly polished and commercialized. My favorites were the albums that fell somewhere in between. And next to "American Excess", my favorite is "Hard Way". I didn't really like it until the third or fourth listening, but now it's one of my favorite all-time albums. These are all tunes that you can really get down and groove with. Not a bad tune in the bunch! Their cover of 'Highway Star' is first-rate and rivals Deep Purple's original. In looking over all the titles, I could pick favorites, but just picking one automatically brings my mind to the next track, and I realize that the whole album really should be listened to from beginning to end as one continuous experience to be appreciated fully. Don't miss this one folks!

Personnel: Kim Davis, Karl Berke, John O'Daniel, Rusty Burns, Buzzy Gruen, Wild Bill Randolph.

Track Listing: Turning Back, The Hard Way, On The Run, Highway Star, Rock 'n Roll Soldier (vocal by Rusty Burns!), Guessing Game, Wrong To Cry (awesome blues sound!), Thank You Mama.

The "Hard To Find" Way 19 April 2010
By Terry Raines - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I dont have this CD. Wish I could find it. Had it on cassette years ago. I have all the other John odaniel era CDs, which are great!!. Saw them 3 or 4 times in Pensacola, Fla. back in my high school days.It would be great if some record or reissue record lable would come along and see how great this stuff is and that there is a market for it out there, and reissue all their catalog.I have seen this Cd in the past on a Japanese lable and it had a high dollar price on it.You never see this on Amazon used. Either there arnt that many out there,or the people who have it love it and will not let it go.Glade to see them make a comeback with a new CD. A known record lable should issue this new one, instead of only being able to get it from their web site, or from Amazon.com for 30 some dollars.
