More than not, Lori Foster is an author who rarely disappoints. And without a doubt, HARD TO HANDLE is the best in her SBC Fighters series . . . so far!

Harley "Hard to Handle" Handleman has everything going for him. Sexy good looks; a sexy hard body; and a sexy shattering job. Yea, Harley Handleman has everything, except the ultimate prize of all . . . contentment. Lately, "one night stands" somehow leave him wanting and the SBC "Title Fight" somehow always excludes him. What's a guy to do?
Anastasia Bradley loves her job. She is a "life coach"; she helps her client gain confidence; to uncover their true path in life; basically to accomplish their goals without too much stress involved. Anastasia Bradley thinks Harley Handleman needs her services! Harley Handleman thinks Stasia's services would just be dandy . . . in his bed!

More and more, in my mind, I find the storylines in romance novels tend to run together! Even in books I like very much, I seldom remember the plot. Well, that can't be said of Lori Foster's SBC Fighters series! Shortly into HARD TO HANDLE and I was back in the SBC groove. This unique Lori Foster series vividly survives in my memory . . . truly! Yep, HARD TO HANDLE is about one sexy man and one strong woman neatly assembled into one great story. I love Lori Foster! Talk about an auto-buy list; this author is firmly at the top!

Harley Handleman (kid you not that's his name) our hero is in hoping for a crack at a martial arts boxing title - he goes to his mountain cabin retreat to train but is distracted by his sexy neighbour Anastaisia who needs his help since she suspects someone wants her dead.
Apart from hating the name of every character in the book, this book, clearly one in a series, failed to engage me. I found the hero contrary and the heroine, presented as a plucky little thing, on the whole a little irritating.
I like Loris' Books but like Susan Andersen here books are little hit and miss. She has some fairly explicit sex scenes (although she makes you wait for it ...) but this book felt a too slow and bogged with the silly premise of a life coach with a stalker offering her services to a guy she likes.
It is also too crowded with characters we are introduced to but never get to know and an overly rushed parrelle couple storyline, introduced 2 thirds of the way through the book. I found myself skipping whole scenes because they seemed pointless.
I felt Ms Foster's heart was not in this endeavor and it left me cold as a result. She can do so much better - a disappointing 2 stars for for THTH. Read the delightful (and hot!) Too Much Temptation if you haven't yet and you'll understand why I say Ms Foster can do so much better.

Hard to Handle follows on perfectly from the previous SBC Fighter books, Causing Havoc and Simon Says, and for fans of the series you'll be happy to hear that your favourite characters from these books make plenty of appearances. If you haven't read the previous books, however, don't worry, as the story works perfectly well alone.
Harley is one of the most promising fighters on the SBC circuit, but every time he gets a shot at a title fight, something goes wrong - most recently a dislocated elbow. This injury dumps him in a secluded cabin, where he promptly ends up snowed in with his life-coach landlady Stasia - can she help Harley take back control to get the title fight he craves - and will he let her through his defences?
Lori Foster's reputation for creating hot heroes and steamy storylines is well deserved, and this book will surely become another fan favourite.
