5.0 out of 5 stars For those who know... 4 Jan 2008
CD1 is a great collection of music spanning some seriously good artists, and with Mark EG at the helm you really cant go wrong.

CD2 and 3 are not my cuppa at all, although i enjoyed the music, I wasnt taken by the mixes.

5.0 out of 5 stars best hardhouse cd for ages 20 Nov 2007
CD1 is definitely a slow burner. Mark EG does his usual style of warming up with some ok dark electro/techno tunes that build up to some amazing hardstyle. By track 7 we're hit with Luna's latest tune and it is an amazing piece of dutch hardtstyle. Followed with an FJ Project remix, then Acid and love which is one of the best tunes I've heard in a long time. Donkey Rollers-chopper, another stand out hardstyle tune. The last 2 tracks, Showtek-FTS (biggest hardstyle anthem of 2007 by far) and I grow it are the best 2 traks on the entire album. I'd say overall cd1 isnt the best, but it has the best tunes of the compilation scattered about the mix. Caters for the hardstyle fans and will satisfy those who are into the darker hardtrance sound. Very nicely mixed aswell.

CD2 anne savage is an excellent mix. Fusing the modern hardhouse sound with hard electro, even some hardstyle influenced tracks by dark by design and Alex kidd are in the mix. Pure quality all the way through. I think this mix has a more universal reach for the hard ravers out there. Could probably have done with a few hardtrance tunes in my opinion.

CD3 is hardcore, but I thoroughly enjoyed it as it is hardcore more catered for hardhouse fans. Not too much cheesy vocals but a lot of uplifting trance riffs. I'd say the mixing is a bit basic on this one, but the tunage is top quality

This cd compilation is definitely for the more educated fan. Its not particualrly commercial which made me fall in love with it, but other people may not like it for just that reason. If you consider yourself a die hard fan of harddance, you'll want this in your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag 25 July 2008

3 mixed cds that cover a good range of hard dance - which means you'll almost certainly find something you like.
They all sound great, with knife-sharp top notes and clear but full bass and drums with plenty of weight behind them, and to my ears they're very well mixed.
Mark EG does 'Hard', and while I guess it's techno (not a style I'm familiar with), it's rhythmically interesting and tuneful. Force is 'Furious', which is a bit of a misnomer - it's pretty tame, repetitive Scott Browny bouncy hardcore with lots of tunes you'll swear you've heard before even if you haven't, too stop-start and too much of the girly vocals and inane lyrics. It's probably not as dire as I make it sound, but I was fairly disappointed. 'Fast', mixed by Anne Savage, is my pick of the bunch: hard house mainly I guess, and just one enormous tune after another, starting with 'Here Come the Drums', reaching a peak of goodness with 'Red Admiral' - 'Spherical' (you can't really miss with a bit of oldskool piano) - 'Music is the Drug', and thundering on to its conclusion.
With this sort of collection not everything is going to appeal to everyone, and two out of three is above par, especially when one is excellent.

This is a little too "hard" for my tastes but I took that risk, knowing what the CD was titled! Try sampling it if you're unsure as music is so subjective.
