How to Move Content to Another Xbox 360 ConsoleIf you've purchased a new Xbox 360 console, you can transfer everything (games, videos, music, saved games, gamertags, and even your hard-won achievements) to your new console!
There are two options available for moving your precious information. You can either use the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit to move everything to your new console, or connect a USB thumb drive if you only have a small amount of content such as your gamertag and saved games.
The Hard Drive Transfer Kit, which includes a special transfer cable, can be purchased online or from a local retailer.
To transfer content to your new console, you need the Hard Drive Transfer Kit and the latest console software. To get the latest console software, sign in to Xbox LIVE on your new console. If your console needs new software, you'll be prompted to install it. If your console is not connected to Xbox LIVE, you can use your computer to download the console update from the Internet.
Once you have the Hard Drive Transfer Kit, you're ready to transfer content.
To transfer content to another console
1. Remove the hard drive from your old Xbox 360 console.
2. Connect the transfer cable to your old hard drive as shown below.

3. Plug the other end of the transfer cable into a USB port on your new console. When both ends of the cable are connected, you are ready to transfer content.

4. Turn on your new console. If you have the latest console software installed, the following message will appear.

Choose Yes, transfer to console.
Note: If this message does not appear, sign in to Xbox LIVE to get the latest console software.
5. Select Start to begin the content transfer.

The transfer might take several hours to complete, depending on the amount of content stored on your old hard drive. Once the transfer is complete, sign in to Xbox LIVE and enjoy your new Xbox 360 console.
Content Licenses
After your content is transferred to the new console, some content might still be associated with your old Xbox 360. Don't worry, you'll still be able to play the content on your new console as long as you are signed in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that originally purchased the content.
However, if you want to use all of your transferred content without signing in to Xbox LIVE or with a different gamertag, you'll need to transfer the content licenses to your new console. For information on how to do this, please go to www.xbox.com/drm.
Using a USB Storage Device
If you only need to move a small amount of content (such as a gamertag or a saved game), you can use a USB storage device to move the content to your new console.
Note: The Xbox 360 console can copy a maximum of 16 gigabytes (GB) to a USB storage device. If you need to transfer more than 16 GB of content, you should use the Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

I bought this to transfer my memory from my (rubbish - 4 times broken) xbox 360 premium console, to my brand new Xbox 360 S console which I got on day of release. This transfer kit, worked a treat, thank you. Another good thing to note, is that it only took 5 mins to tranfer 20gb of memory. Which is brilliant :)

The device comes with instruction leaflets in several languages. Once you have found the right one the rest can go in the bin.
One thing I did not realise is that it does not copy the data it moves it deleting the originals from the source hard drive. I had already created my gamer profile on my new Slim console and when I used this device to move the same game tag from my old one it would no longer except it so I had to recover it again from online. Device is easy to use. With your new console up and running just plug cable onto old hard drive and then plug the other end into a USB port on your new console. A box should pop up offering the transfer (move) direction and you then get to select what you move by category and down to item level should you require e.g. pick a certain gamer tag or 7Gb video file. Like windows it has an option to overwrite all exisiting objects but not one for no, don't overwrite existing - no a big deal, just a little annoying. Once complete, power down your console, unplug device and power up again. My 30 gigs of data from the last generation XBOX 250Gb hard drive to new model took under 45 minutes.
