3.0 out of 5 stars A very mixed bag 13 April 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Firstly, my sole reason for buying this compilation was the Mark EG disc. The guy is a legend and his mixes are proper floor fillers! But damn this cd was pure crap from start to finish, so disappointing. First time I've ever thought so poorly of something he has put his name to. Every track sounds the same, and they're really weak tracks. The Andy Whitby disc, oddly the one I was least bothered about, has turned out to be the saving grace of this collection. Funky, pumping tunes, bristling with energy and some real dirty basslines. Couple of suspect tracks but overall pretty damn good. Put this on in the car and whack it up! Anne Savage cd was okay, but again not the standard we've come to expect. Few too many breakdowns in my opinion made for a mix with no real flow. Some tracks are quite heavy, but forgettable. The mash up mix starts off very promisingly, then kind of loses its way a bit. Good party tunes though. In conclusion this compilation is a bit misleading. Surely the word 'anthem' implies the best the genre has to offer, but these mixes give the impression of very easy to make. Like I said, Andy Whitby cd is a stormer. Mark EG's would make a nice coaster. The others, depends what you like I guess.

4.0 out of 5 stars HARD, FAST, FURIOUS & a little outdated! 6 Dec 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Having bought this purely cos it's been produced and mixed by the Nukleuz team, I was slightly disappointed with the mixing, in particular on CD2. A lot of the tracks have been rushed in to the mix lasting no more than 2 mins just for the sake of being included on the album (which is probably due to the record company than the dj's). It also contains a few tracks which are too old such as DJ Tiesto: Suburban Train, Dirt Devils: The Drill and 4 Strings: Into the night (too bad their new one 'Diving' hasn't been included instead). On the plus side though, it contains the excellent Can U dig it by JamX&DeLeon which I've been trying to get a hold of as well as brand new mixes of Ratty: Sunrise and Cappella: U got 2 Know. Overall, the album is what it says on the cover - HARD, FAST & FURIOUS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Andy Whitby 23 Jun 2011
Format:Audio CD
Andy Whitby cd is the best of all four. Additionally, Sam & Deano cd has a couple of listenable tunes. I like Hard dance Awards series better though.
